Question about installing 8.1 from USB

So I downloaded the ISO file and the tool from the windows/microsoft website and I did everything I needed to do, but it never asked me for a CD key. When I try to install it onto my new rig will it ask me for one? 

CPU: I7 4790k  CPU Cooler: NH-D15 GPU: MSI 970 4gb   Motherboard: z97 Gaming 5 PSU: Corsair hx850   Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8 gb  SSD: Samsung 850 Evo  Case: Air 540

Yes, it will ask you for a cd key later on in the installation.

It depends what version you have. If you have an preview you don't need one, however if you downloaded a genuine version you will have an cd key in your mailbox and/or on the download page
