Power supply choice

wrick17

Hi Guys,

I am planning to throw in an i5-4690k, with a corsair H100i, 2 x GTX 980 Ti, 16GB of Hyper X Fury. I am guessing a 1000W PSU. Will that be ok with my config?

You could get away with a 850 watt psu but I would get a 1000w psu like this one:

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

This man is a example why everyone choose overkill PSU when building a PC. @wreick17, a 750W is enough for your build and a lot of headroom for overclocking in the future.

I'd go 850 W. 750 would work, but not if you plan on overclocking your cards or cpu.

I believe 750W should allow to overclock a little bit, but not a lot though.

You'll be good on 850W. Nothing wrong with going 1000W if the PSU is cheaper than an equivalent 850W but you'll be fine on 850W.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.
