Internally programmable mouse?

So right now I have the Logitech MX5500 mouse and I love it. I have it set up that the side wheel does things like Open New Tab, Close Tab, Restore Tab and the top wheel side to side to switch between tabs. It is very handy and is part of my workflow, but it requires Logitech software to function. I am looking for a mouse that I can program and it would stay somewhere on the mouse (like internal memory?) and could function on another computer without the software. Is that even possible? Is there something like that out there?

My Logitech G700s does exactly what you describe No gaming software needed, except to program it in the first place. You can choose whether you want your profiles stored on the mouse (in which case they work on any computer) or stored on the computer itself.

That could be perfect! Do you know if there's something like that with a side wheel? I know I'm being too picky but mayyybe it's out there?

The MX Master perhaps? I'm not 100% sure that it works the same way but I doubt they've downgraded, given that the Master is a newer model.

Yeah I looked at that one and wasn't that impressed. I wish mine just had an internal storage
