Planetside 2 VERY high temps

Go to solution Solved by Ivo,

It's because vsying limits your fps to refresh rate of your monitor which is 60 hz, rendering 60fps vs 150fps is a lot easier on your gpu which is why it runs cooler.

Greetings!

I have a problem - when I'm playing without Vsync or Smoothing - my GTX 780 getting really HOT (about 77-80C and above) with FPS 100-150. But when I turn on Smoothing or VSync - temp is ok (about 60) and FPS is 50-60.

Why is that? It kinda bothering me a bit....

Well, obviously because your GPU is having to work harder it gets hotter. You might want to check out any overclocks you're running or the arflow in your case. Not really a problem though.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.
