Hi

Until recently I had been using a amd 6800k as a temporary CPU replacement until I had the money to upgrade which in return bottlenecked my r9280x. Now I bought a fx6300 and a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P and once I replaced the 6800k the performance in specifically gta 5 was significantly worse. Could some one offer a solution?

Thank you

The 6800k might have the 760k/860k which has better single threaded performance than a 6300.

fx6300 is terrible. Bottlenecks the 970 by a lot.

He doesn't have a 970 he has a 280x, which isn't bottlenecked badly by the FX-6300 and ESPECIALLY not in GTAV since it can utilize so many CPU cores

Upgrade to Intel.

Be quiet. He's trying to find out why his better processor is doing worse than his old processor. The FX-6300 is perfectly capable of keeping up with a 280x in GTA V

The A10 has slightly better single core performance, but the FX-6300 should perform better in GTA V. What settings are you using, and what is your average framerate?

Well the settings are high 1080p and my frames with the a10 are quite high around 30 to 50 but with the fx6300 it is below the 20 mark sometimes

And I didn't but this new hardware it was given to me by a friend.

That isn't right. Make sure all of you advanced graphics settings are off and turn your population density, distance scaling, and population diversity down to about %70 of the entire slider. The FX-6300 is capable of giving over 50fps constantly (mostly over 60)
