USB input on pfsense?

Hello!

 

My cable company provided modem has a USB port on it.  I am switching over to pfSense and was wondering if I can use the modem's USB port to connect it to the pfSense machine, or do I have to go buy a PCI NIC?

Most times that usb port is turned off.
