Logitech Harmony 650, Yay or Nay?

Guest

Hey guys, so earlier this year I built a HTPC and not looked back. One of the problems I have however is the collection of remotes, one for my tv, one for the sound bar, one for the cable box and then a mouse n keyboard for my HTPC, along with a small, but crap Rii remote. The harmony 650 is on a deal from amazon for the next hour at £39 from £69, is it worth it? How well does it work with a HTPC? I'm on Windows 7 with a kodi setup.

Cheers.

http://www.usbuirt.com/ - That can be used with Unified Remote to send IR signals. Obviously it will need more set up but yeah.

Which is another $50 plus shipping, end up being much more expensive that the harmony 650 :/

True but UR has much more functionality with the PC. Maybe get the remote to control your media devices and use UR on your PC and phone. Also, your PC needs an IR receiver to work with the remote.

The Logitech harmony PC setup software is probably the worst software I've ever seen.

That's the reason why I returned my Harmony 350

Well in the end I purchased it and it's brilliant, very happy with it.
