so im looking at new gpu's I want 2 new 970 evga gpu's over the 970's i have now. i have sorted out what i am doing with my other ones but I can see that the

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 4GB doesnt include a backplate. how do i get one from evga and how much will it cost? because the backplate is really the decider.

Well PC Case Gear sells them for $25 AUD, so they exist.

20€ each for a backplate, they are sold directly at EVAG under accessories.... one question - WHY are you changing two 970s for two 970s?

my cousin wants a pc, if i was to sell my reference ones to him they would be cheaper for him and I can get some non reference ones. Im also selling him my case, fans blah blah.

I was looking at them before on pccg but $25 is a bit much for a backplate in my opinion

I doubt you'll find them for much less. It's not all that much given the fact that alot of the other EVGA GPUs cost the same as that particular one PLUS the backplate, while the FTW+ is the only one that comes with one (iirc)

Yeah, it is... and the 980Ti costs 27€ as opposed to 20€ for every other backplate ever made... don't know why

That might be because every non-reference-cooler version seems to come with one

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

Really wouldn't recomend the 970 as a good GPU for gaming due to its rather disappointing price/performance ratio. Either go with a single 980 or consider the R9 Fury non-X. There will ALWAYS be a very big hassle when combining GPU's in such configurations.

Good luck building ;)

I have a reference one, no backplate... before the 980Ti I had two 970s, non-reference ACX ones, no backplates either...

I just don't understand why the standalone backplate for the 980Ti costs 27€, while every other EVGA backplate costs 20€

the hell are you on? although you do bring up an interesting point:

@Bleeding Moot, why not get a single 980Ti, it costs about the same, has roughly the same performance, and you can add a second in later if needed (+ the EVGA ones come with backplates)

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

seems a bit odd, you're taking a practicality hit for aesthetics, but you don't want to fork out an extra 5% of the total cost of the GPUs on backplates
