A GTX480 is better than a 650ti

Matthew

My friend seems to this that the 650ti is better than the 480, from all of the benchmarks and 3dmark scores i've showed him, the 480 is better. The only thing the 650ti is better at is power consumption.

Current Rig : Corsair 330r, ASRock Z77 Extreme6, 3570K, 8gb Crucial Balistix, KFA2 GTX680 White, Corsair AX750, Xonar Essence STX, Beyerdynamic DT770

the gtx 480 when it was released was a top tier gaming graphics card.

the gtx 650 ti was released as a sub-entry level gaming graphics card.

now while the gtx 480 is older it's not so old that it is now overcome by an entry level card.

gtx 480 runs circles around the gtx 650 ti.

According to graphs from nVidia themselves the GTX 480 performance lies between the 560 Ti & the 570' date=' while being slightly closer to the 570 rather than the 560Ti . GTX 650 Ti has identical performance to the 560Ti. So the 480 is just slightly faster.[/quote']

identical you say.....hmm

GTX 650 Ti has identical performance to the 560Ti.

So the 480 is just slightly faster.

GTX 650 ti is not the same as 560 Ti but a non-Ti 560, all in all 480 is better, but 480 sucks power, and outputs a lot of heat, so try saving up for a 660 or a ti version

I stand corrected .
