Upgrade Build

Hey Everybody,

 

I am thinking of doing a computer upgrade in a sense.

 

I have an old hp desktop from 2007 with an old q6600 processor in it. but i have done minor upgrades to it over the years. So i'd like to reuse some of the components if possible.

 

this is the build (the power supply/ ssd/ and video card are from my existing pc)

Basically i am looking to see if the items I choose have potential compatibility issues i haven't thought of or if there are better components i should choose.

 

Future of this desktop:

I'd like the ability to bring it up to 16gb of ram and add a new video card probably something like a gtx970... not sli

will i have any issues with my current power supply keeping up with this?

You might want a different PSU later once you upgrade your GPU, but it should be fine for now. I still have that same PSU from nearly 2007 that ran 24/7 until the end of 2014 and still works great today.
