Hey Guys!

So i have been trying to figure out what honestly looks the best with BF4.  Here is my build:

  •
  • CPU
    Fx- 8350
  • Motherboard
    Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
  • RAM
    16GB (2x8GB) GSkill 1600
  • GPU
    Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290

And I currently have AA turned off and run the game on high at 170% res scale and on almost all the maps (accept some of the newest ones i sit closer to 60) I get about 65-80 constant and it runs like a dream.  But the question is, does anyone know what are the best settings for eye candy? Is it better to just run it at ultra cranked up and maybe a little res scale, or drop down to high/med and crank up the res scale.

Thank You guys ahead of time! and honestly i hope this can be a great discussion and this might not be a clear cut answer based on your resolution or screen size

Ultra is only slightly different than high with a big hit in frame rate, your settings seem about right. Personally I'd run with AA 4x or 8x and have res scale at 100% with a 1080p monitor (and those specs).

yeah i have been trying them out and honestly i cant tell which is best the AA or the res scale.  Or do they in the end do basically the same thing

I never really looked at res scale but I assume it's just downsampling. Which I personally don't like because it makes things a bit blurry. It basically does the same thing, it removes jagged edges from things on screen. MSAA will do it too. It's personal preferences as to which method you should use though, try both and see which you prefer.

I dunno, id say 2K best, dont expect 3 or 4K downsampling to run smooth on 290.

yeah 200% res scale didnt run well it runs perfectly smooth at 170% so ive been using it there
