USB Port Stopped Working

One of my usb port on my my Asus X99-Deluxe suddenly stopped working. The PC was asleep and as soon as I started using it, I got a taskbar notification that a usb device is not recognized, then my moused stopped working. I plugged the mouse to a different port and it worked. I have reinstalled the drivers and disabled "usb selective suspend setting" and it still doesn't work. I checked the contacts on the port and nothing looks skewed. I plugged in my phone in the port and it's charging fine. It's seems to be providing power but no data?

Did you restore your system?

Did I restore it to fix the problem? Or did I restore it recently?

 

I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 recently because my ssd was "locked" and I couldn't fix it. I don't see how that could be the problem. It has been working fine. This just happened an hour ago. I got the notification and then BAM!, then mouse stopped working. every other usb port works fine and it has a lot of usb ports.

Power works fine just no data I guess. The OS didn't even give a notification of any kind that my phone was connected when I plugged it in that one usb port.
