New Build Cheap UK

Hi, My friend is after his first build, was going to spend £550 on a gaming laptop but I advised a desktop would be far better. (I struggled to find many laptops with a dedicated graphics card in at that price, that weren't either lower than 1080p or that were about 14" screen size)

He is after a build to play cs:go/dayz/H1Z1 and games of similar levels. He needs an OS and there are 2 builds I was thinking could be good. I have an Nvidia 660ti he can use in his build or he can buy his own GPU,

I think the 660ti would play the games he wants though, not maxed out but on medium should be fine. Was thinking an i3 processor would be fine and then either use the 660ti or buy his own. I'd sell him the 660ti for about £40 so should save him money on that side.

Does anybody have any ideas on specific parts so I can send him a pc part picker link of some sort?

Any help is appreciated

How bad is this? If the 660ti goes in it.
