Hey guys,

So I am looking to buy a good gaming laptop, under $1000, that can play games at medium to high settings at 45-60 fps. I will be playing games like Battlefield 4, Titanfall, Planetside 2, GTA V, and the Batman Arkham Series.

I also want to be set for any future triple A titles that come out. I will be using this laptop for work. If possible, I would love a laptop that is no bigger than 17", and a red and black theme. I will be carrying it alot, and I love red and black :P. Thanks in advance guys!

Half of the titles you listed are unoptimized hogs of doom.

Sorry, I could never take "gaming" seriously when it comes to a laptop, seeing how monster desktop rigs struggle with modern games.

*cough*

*Arkham Knight..*

*cough*

Lucky for me, I didn't buy arkham knight  :P  :P. And I completely understand where your coming from, I own a desktop pc with an r9 290x. I thought it was gonna run all games on ultra, 60fps

which specifications, there are different versions of the y50 arent there?

Storage is the main difference, alongisde with the screen(which is either FHD or QHD). There's also a 2014 and a 2015 model. The 2015 model comes with a 960M GPU (overclocked 860M from the previous year) on all versions, and the FHD version is now IPS , compared to the TN FHD display of last year's version. The QHD screen isn't worth the extra money imo. Storage is either 1TB/500GB HDD + 8GB SSD for caching, or 256GB/512GB SSD. There's also models with i5-s and i7-s, obviously.

Get whichever fits your price range, or compare that one with the other options.
