Display port 4k problems

Hi I have a gigabyte hd 7950 windforge 3x and I want to get a 4k monitor. But heres the problem to play 4k @60 hz you need display port 1.2 or above and Idk if my hd 7950 has mini dp 1.1 or 1.2 so is there a way to play 4k 60hz?

you are right it doesn't support 4k but it does have display port 1.2...

 

I would say get a new graphics card because I have a feeling that one would not be powerful enough to run a game at 4k

I dont want to run heavy apps like gta 5 in 4k just some cs go , video editing ,photoshop and watching vids

 

What gpu should I get if this doesnt make the cut?

290x or a 970. fury non x if you have the budget.
