Hey Guys, 

I have recently had an interest in websites and I want to make my own, I have bought my domain name but I dont know how to link it up so it is being hosted on my raspberry pi, I can get a website up by port-forwarding but I want it to hide my IP. e.g:
 

MyDomain.com > My Router > Raspberry Pi > Server

 

Sorry if this is hard to read, im only a kid and suck at the min with websites, any help is much appreciated, 8

You can't host something and hide your IP without someone else hosting it, like CloudFlare.

Cloudflare doesn't host anything,

Sign up to cloudflare with a free account.

Add your domain to cloudflare and it will tell you to change your nameservers on godaddy to the ones cloudflare provide you.

When that is done, you can configure your DNS records on cloudflare.

make an A record with @ in the first field and your IP in the second field.

then make an A record with www in the first field and your ip in the second field.

Make sure the records are cloudflare activated, you will see an orange cloud on the right.

Test.

 

This is all good but if you have a dynamic IP you will have to sign up to a dynamic dns service and do CNAME records of the dynamic dns hostname that you get.
