Hard drive issues

Go to solution Solved by xxx,

All fixed - thanks!

I have just built a custom PC, and I have found that Windows 8.1 recognises the hard drive but will not let me access it. The system has two SSDs (Intel 730 240gb SSDs in raid 0 in SATA ports 1 and 2) and a WD green 3tb hard drive in SATA port 3. The hard drive is recognised by the BOIS and by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology in Control Panel but it is invisible in Windows Explorer.

I have tried changing the SATA control mode to AHCI as recommended by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology but after I reboot the computer, it displays a Windows repair screen. When I changed the SATA control mode back to RAID I could boot into Windows but I still could not access the hard drive. The hard drive is also not invisible in Windows Explorer in RAID mode.

System:

- Core i7 4690k

- Maximus VII Impact motherboard

- Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR3 1866hmz

- Antec Edge 650 watt

- 2 Intel 730 series 240gb SSDs in RAID 0 with a strip size of 128kb in SATA ports 1 and 2

- WD green 3tb hard drive in SATA port 3

- Asus DRW-24D3ST (optical drive) in SATA port 4
