CS:GO Mic Problem

Go to solution Solved by Lotus,

Heres the problem though, the headset I'm currently using is new, so yeh.

Edit : BTW testing it, and yeh the interference is so much, it hurts my ears sometimes, should prob dc it before something happens lol

Are you getting interference, or excess background noise/static? Are you experiencing interference if you're listening to music with no input from your microphone, or is it just background noise from your microphone? These are two VERY different problems.

I have this problem with CS:GO, everytime I launch it, it would set my Mic volume to 100, which induces a background sound, or that static crap, and I haven't tried to uninstall and reinstall, but I doubt it will work, since its been there ever since I got the game.

I've looked through some threads, but they don't work, unless I'm doing it wrong, any ideas?

Your microphone is most likely to blame, not settings. Are you plugging in through the rear I/O?

Sadly yes, since my front i/o is messed up, one day I didn't see the cord wrapped on the arm of my chair, rotated the chair to the left, and boop, the one for the headset sound is crooked, and the ring came off, but the mic one is still okay, speaking of which I have to headsets, could use the old one as a mic, and the new one for sound

change mic settings in-game perhaps?

It links to Steam's mic settings, but its really crappy, and plus its just linked to my mic volume too lol

Well, you never want to use your front I/0 for analog signals anyway due to electrical interference. If you're going through the rear I/O already, sounds like it's time to get a new microphone.

Oh and, I had to disable the detection of my front i/o through Realtek since, it happend a few months ago, but it would say I disconnected jacks, mic would stop working, and everytime I went to listen to the mic, I'd hear the interference, was super strong and loud, and I had a tiny bit of fun with it, had Stereo Mix enabled, so I pressed listened to it, and the feedback was so real and loud, to me I imagined a trillion little things swarming at you at once, but I'd rather get a new rig, than replace my current headset

I plugged the front I/O in, and since I was in a steam call, I was able to monitor if my mic was making noise at all, and it was 3 bars, without me talking, and so I enabled the listen to option, and it had lots of background noise/static. But it was background noise, my bad for calling it interference

Okay. So long as it's background noise, it's time to get a new mic.

edit: any by new mic, I mean a good mic.
