Replacing FB-DDR2

Go to solution Solved by ProKoN,

ddr2 fb dimms are physically different than regular desktop ddr2 modules and there are no adapters  available. your stuck with fb dimms if you use that mainboard.

I currently have a computer with 2x2gb sticks of FB-DDR2 PC2-5300 memory. I am looking for something that I can replace it with that runs cooler. ECC is unnecessary for the computers use. I am only using 1GB out of the 4GB installed as it is just a file server and iSCSI target. What type of memory would I be able to use? I tried putting a stick of PC2-6400 that was non-ECC in, but the notch did not match up (a few weeks ago, my memory could be wrong). Is there a specific type of non-ecc memory I can use, or am I stuck with Fully Buffered?
