Hi,

I'm having some issues with my old DELL Inspirion 1520.

For some reason it decided to underclock itself to a multiplier of x3 and 0.85 V and stay there nomater the load on the CPU. Also having issues with the RAM, running at half the speed 333 Mhz instead of 667 Mhz.

I tried disabling all the power saving options and stressing the cpu in Prime95 and still doesn't overclock. The temps are stable at 40~45 degrees so overheading doesn't seem to be an issue.

I have no idea what is happening. Any suggestions?

make sure you are not in Power Saver option in Power Options and as for rams DDR = double data rate = 333(.5) =667mhz.

Not in Power Saver. I set the minimum processor state at 100% and the multiplier is still at x3 on 100% cpu usage.

EDIT: Could this be caused by Intel SpeedStep? Should I try disabling it from Bios?

EDIT 2: I think the isue is with CPU-Z. When I ran CoreTemp and Prime95, Coretemp detected the speed of the CPU going up to 2000 Mhz and a voltage to 1.2V. Still, CPU-z show a multiplier of x3 and VID of 0.85V.
