Budget Build

I posted earlier about a pc I bought off of CG, now I'm looking to upgrade the gpu.  It came with a gtx 580, and I was thinking of either buying an additional one for around $60-70 or splurging for a 280x.  Would two 580's in sli outperform that gpu?  Thanks
