Hi

I've been running my 3770k @4.6ghz with 1.344v for 6 months (I was running it @4.5ghz 1.3v). It used to be completely stable but I have had random blue screens when playing GTA 5 but prime95 was still stable. Today I got another blue screen and decided to run prime95. After 10 min my system blue screened again. Is it the CPU overclock which is causing it or could it be something else?

if it helps, I've been running an i7 2600k @ 4.4GHz for 4 years straight without blue screen so it could always be anything else maybe there's something wrong with windows and you said it blue screens on GTA V so keep the GPU in mind as well and update driver

if it still BSODs then reset cmos and do prime 95 to see if it still happens

1.344v is pretty high. See if you can move it down to 1.25v @4.4ghz

Case: NZXT Phantom PSU: EVGA G2 650w Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-AC) CPU: 4690K @4.2ghz/1.2V Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866mhz GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX970 Storage: (2x) WD Caviar Blue 1TB, Crucial MX100 256GB SSD, Samsung 840 SSD Wifi: TP Link WDN4800

My cpu needs 1.3v to do 4.5ghz so I don't think 1.25v would be enough for 4.4ghz. I have a custom water loop so running my cpu at 1.25v is kinda pointless. It's the worst overclocking 3770k.

Just because it's running cooler doesn't mean throwing more volts at it won't hurt it. Just try toning it down a bit and test to see if you get another bluescreen.

I know that. I just want to get the most out of my CPU :D. Stock clocks seem stable so I'll try my old 4.5ghz 1.3v first. I'm really tempted to get a 5820k.
