For those of you who have been to a LAN party, and live in holland.

Currently Codemasters Campzone is being held outdoors.
So you go camping with your computer!
There is Power, a very fast LAN, and a lot of people will be there for 11 full days !

Oh and a lot of people means about 1000 that will be going for the full event!

Thats right 11 FULL Days,

Youtube video of the opening (yesterday):

The official website www.campzone.nl , see quote below with some info

CampZone is the ultimate gaming holiday with a plus. Besides the normal camping facilities, it also provides a high speed Local Area Network to interconnect all the people on the terrain. CampZone is a unique event/camping that provides you a modern holiday that lasts a full 11 days.

Where is CampZone?
CampZone will take place on a field in Oirschot, close to Eindhoven Airport (province of Noord-Brabant).

Is there a minimum age for CampZone?
No, there isn’t a minimum age for CampZone. For visitors younger than 18 it’s important to check in while you are still at home, because your parents must give you permission.

What should I bring?
CampZone is the ultimate gaming holiday. Therefore you should bring not only your camping gear, but also everything you may need for those highly skilled frags, everything you need for the average LAN party and more. For instance a tent or camper, clothing, sleeping stuff, cookery utensils if you want to cook and of course your PC and peripherals.

How and when do I receive my ticket?
One or two weeks before the event starts, you shall receive your ticket by email. At this moment you’re able to start the ‘pre-checking in procedure’. This way you can enter the CampZone terrain a lot faster.

What should be the length of my network cable?
There is no straight answer for this. The average length will be around 25 metres. In extreme cases, it can be necessary (in an absolute corner) to have 75 metres of UTP. This all depends on your camping spot and the distance to the nearest FHQ (Field Headquarters). Due to the possible distance your UTP cable has to cover, we advice to get a high quality UTP cable. Cheap high quality cables can be found here. It is also possible to buy the cable during CampZone.

Will there be Internet?
As with the earlier editions, we can never promise Internet. However, as always we will do our very best to make sure everyone will be able to stay in touch with their friends not at CampZone. We have never had a CampZone without Internet yet. Be aware though: this connection is shared with all the participants. Depending on bandwidth available, we will make certain services available and block others. Last year, we had around a Gigabit of internet bandwidth and where able to open all services from the Internet. Still: Even then Internet can be unstable or unreliable. It will be very unwise to assume you can administrate stuff at home or at work. Make sure you do not have important stuff that rely on the internet connection!

Question: Are any dutch people going to this (i'll be going one day, I have been to the full event - so the full 11 days 3 times I think)
Question for other (non-dutch) people: Have you ever been to a LAN party?

What are your experiences?
