Will Truecrypt with Raid 1 be a Problem?

I’d like to set up a software raid 1 with 2 3TB drives. Then I want to encrypt them with true crypt. Does anyone know if this is safe? If 1 drive fails will I be able to just replace and rebuild the raid array without any issues. I’m worried that losing a drive will somehow break true crypt and make all the data unreadable.
