Ethernet Drivers?

So hears my problem I have a 50 foot Ethernet cable running from my router to my PC if its in the first Ethernet slot on the router on my PC it says unidentified network no internet access but when i put it in the second slot it connects but is extremely slow.  I have a 60 Mbps internet speed its fast on every other device including my mac which is connected by Ethernet also.  Could I possibly need to install Ethernet drivers. I thought I already did when I built it because after I installed my graphics card drivers I put in the driver disk that came with the motherboard.  What should I do?
