For the past 4 days or so Google Chrome has been running really slow. It takes ages to open the browser, and then even longer to load a page; but once it's loading it's as fast as it always has been. Internet Explorer is running fine, also my PC specs are good to. I run a 3570k, 8gb ram and a 7950. When I restart it works fine for around a day, then it goes back to slow. I have no viruses or anything either, done the checks. Any ideas?

Have you tried just doing a chrome re-install? Clear your cookies and whatnot, see if that helps. Also, try some kind of registry cleaner (idk why, just trying to think of random possibly helpful things here)

Are you getting a solid connection from speedtest?

Huh, I don't know what to tell you then. Do you have a good amount of RAM in your system? Maybe allocate a bit more memory to chrome in the task manager?

I'm running 8gb, it's always been fine until a few days ago.

I'm out of ideas then. Maybe it's just your system with that build of chrome. It is running the most recent update, right?

Click the tripple lines in the top right corner, go to "about google chrome" then it will spin a bit and turn green if it's the most recent.

Is it only chrome?

If it is then it must be some plug-in or a bad registry key.

I would run Procmon and monitor the keys that are being addressed when you launch it.

But before you attempt that, try to remove it and everything that is related to it using THIIS SHORT GUIDE

Reboot then install and see how it works.

Keep in mind that this will wipe your preferences and possibly your bookmarks.

On the latest, windows defender just picked something up and removed it so I had to retstart my PC. It's working okay now, as it did last time. I will let you know if it fixes for good or not.

Fresh install so I had no plugins, well I had 3 but I removed them. Also I've clear them already. Also, restarting my PC makes it run okay for a while.

The version of chrome that was released on 7/14/13 has some bugs in it, i had been having a similar problem with mine so i did some research about it and ended up removing the new version and going back to the previous one, because i was also having issues with shockwave player crashing with the new version. Havent had any of those issues since returning to previous version.

This is the version i was having trouble with=  28.0.1500.72

So i switched back to this one  =  28.0.1500.71

There is a newer version, (29.0.1547.32) but im skeptical about trying it.

Heres a link to a site to download older versions
