BSOD Help?

Hey guys. I wanted to ask for help on some BSOD issues I've been getting, but I want to start off by saying the BSOD stickied post won't load for me, so I'm going off this by hand.

 

I started getting BSOD when I installed my third monitor. And I randomly get them when I launch. The computer turn on completely fine, but will only BSOD a few seconds after I load my desktop. I've been getting three common codes. Here they are.

 

0x000000B8

0x0000000A

0x00000044

 

I have no idea what the issue is (though I did some trial and error when setting up the monitors, and I have a feeling it's not the monitors themselves, but my computer causing the issues). If anyone can help me, that would be fantastic.

 

I can't find anything helpful about those codes online myself.

The 0x0000000A is exactly what you posted, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

 

The 0x000000B8 says "A wait operation, attach process, or yield was attempted from a DPC routine"

 

And I don't have one for 0x00000044 at this time.

I'll try, but the thing is, it will randomly blue screen, then be fine. Like I booted three times, got all three of the ones I posted, then it booted fine and is working fine.

 

How do I check and/or fix the drivers?

Can you upload a copy of your last 2 or 3 BSOD's to a cloud sharing service and link them here, I can take a look and see if I can glean more information as to what is causing the BSOD's, without looking at the memory dumps there isn't much we can tell you.

You will find the memory dumps in C:\Windows\Minidump\ If you can upload at least 2 of them and link them for me to download I can take a look and try and figure it out for you. Cheers

I don't know what else to update. Video drivers are done, and anything in windows updater is updated, except for one, which is an Internet Explorer 11 update or something which keeps failing. I don't have the other codes right this second, but if they're really needed I can try to induce another BSOD

Go into Device Manager and disable your Firewire, that is probably what caused your last BSOD, and it caused the BSOD before that with a WDF Violation, I had that last week.

Firewire is a connector that was mostly used by Apple back in the early 2000's, it was the main competitor to USB, but is almost never used nowadays.

In the memory dump it was the last file in Memory at the time of the BSOD, with the name 1394ohci.sys, and 1394 is the name for Firewire, so disabling Firewire in either the BIOS or in Windows should fix it.

Thanks. Found IEEE 1934 Bus host Controllers and disabled the driver "VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller" which looks like the one.

That's the one, keep an eye on your system and if you get another BSOD then let us know and we will take a look, but hopefully that should be the last of it.

If you want to diagnose BSOD's by yourself then go to nirsoft.com and download BlueScreenView, you can use this to see what the last file in memory was at the time of the BSOD and from there you can find out what caused it, I've used it quite a few times now and it is a super helpful program to keep around.
