transfer programs and boot onto ssd

Go to solution Solved by Robin88,

There is, but you're better off doing a clean install onto the SSD when you get it.

If you are dead set on doing a clone, then you'll want to partition your current drive to have another partition and move all the files over to it that you don't want cloning, once you've done that then you can use a cloning tool to clone the OS partition to the SSD and leave the other partition on the old drive, once you've confirmed that you can boot the SSD you can remove the OS partition on the old drive and reclaim the space left behind.
