for a year or two when my computer is starting up there is no windows logo i just have a blank screen till the password screen

My PC goes from the "Starting Windows..." loading screen, right ot my desktop. Because I have an SSD, it skips the "Welcome" screen entirely.

You might have a super fast SSD like @NonaHexa or you might have to do this:

 

Open the Start Menu ➜ type msconfig in the search bar ➜ press enter ➜ navigate to the "Boot" tab ➜ Uncheck "No GUI boot"

I didn't know whether or not you have an SSD, as your profile page just says "1 tb" for storage. If you did, that would explain it.

You should see if you can put an SSD in it. You could buy a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for $110!

I'd rather have a bigger capacity drive.

I don't notice how slow my hard drive is right now but when I do I'll definitely upgrade.
