Alright so, basically what I'm having trouble with is this damn game

if I set everything on ultra, I average about 40 FPS outside of battles and 20 FPS inside

everything on low and I get 75 FPS outside of battles and 40 inside

is there anyway I can get this damn game to give me a good constant 60+ FPS with decent settings?

my rig's specs are

i5 3570k

GTX 970 Gaming 4G

32 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance pro DDR3 Ram

I can't overclock the CPU because I have an H77 board so no where to go there

any ideas?

PS2 is a very CPU intensive game... especially in big fights. Your GPU should be okay to run it but I would recommend either getting a new CPU or a new motherboard because you should either OC it or get a new one. I have a i7-4790K and I can run it on ultra with Vsync at 60 fps even in 100+ people fights.

If all else fails and you can't upgrade I would set your render distance down to about 1000... that should help quite a bit.

how odd, i get 60+ always maxed with a 4670k and a 680. hell my 7870xt had better performance then you currently do.

I've actually set my render distance to the lowest which is 500 and got that second result, even with that I get insane amounts of lag spikes and its annoying

I don't think I'm any where near the time of upgrading my CPU anytime soon

I used to have a 7870 too, it has the same performance of my 970 on ultra, but with everything set low :P

Overclocking the CPU would really help in firefights. Without doing that, you're kinda screwed.

yeah, sadly I only have an H77 motherboard ( I was stupid when I bought it, because I thought I could overclock cause of the 77 number --', im smarter now tho :P
