I am thinking about upgrading my cpu and MOBO but i was thinking is it worth getting haswell or buying a older third generation 3570k, or 4570k Haswell?

Hope I could help!

the hero is a good board.

if thats what you like and want i would go for it.

you will see approximately a 25-30% increase in cpu performance by upgrading and a definite benefit for wise of power consumption

4.6GHz on a 4670k is very realistic

with a top notch cooler

no need for a maximus hero....save some money and buy a different board....if your after looks then my board is quite good...the msi z87 gd65 gaming.....i really like it and wont be changing it anytime soon.....will probably also buy next gen 1150 chip if its good enough....i also made the switch from fx-6100 to 4670k.....i cant say ive noticed a real difference in performance as far as normal tasks go but video editing is somewhat better and benchmarks score higher s0 thats good.....

Honestly when it comes coolers

good cooler + budget

dont go together unless you find a good piece of hardware on sale.

as anubikai mentioned you can still get a very good board, for less money and use that money towards a better cooler.

my favorite budget cooler starts at 80.00 lol. noctua nhd-14

for water

honestly most aio dual rads are fairly good

i think the top performers are

swiftech h220 ( i enjoy supporting this company)

thermaltake water 2.0 extreme

corsair h100i

            h110

kraken x40

            x60

none of these are budget but are worth saving up for ..even if it takes a while to save.

yeah prokon is right when he says money you save on your board is better spent on a cooler.....i would recommend my board as its really good quality in my opinion and a h100i with 4 fans.....it may be a bit pricey but you will like the results as long as your chip isnt horrible...mine is fairly bad but i can still get 4.6ghz fairly easily at 1.3v....this also relies on your luck aswell
