I am building a new pc which will have an intel 5960X Overclocked to 4.0Ghz may get it further and two titan x's overclocked 200-300mhz with 32gb 2400mhz ram. other parts in the system 2 x 2tb WD black HDD's, 1TB WD Blue Drive, 480gb SSD, a 240gb M.2 SSD.

cooling will involve 2x D5 pumps and 14 corsair SP 120mm fans.

will a Corsair RM1000 be Overkill or isn't it enough power

Tthanks.

Custom PC:

Intel Core i7 5960X GTX1080 Strix | 64gb 2400mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance Ram | Samsung S951 256gb M.2 | 4TB WD Blue SSHD | EVGA Supernova G2 1300watt PSU | Acer XB270HU | Corsair K95 RGB | Corsair M65 RGB |

RM series has bad caps and not good for SLI.I reccomend the EVGA 1000w Gold 2 (G2) or P2 (platinum 2)

thats the one I looked at originally was going to get custom braided cables for it as I don't like the red gpu cables

Don't get an RM or lower from corsair.. AX or HX. EVGA G2 is awesome price and quality, 850 W is plenty for your build.. Only go to 1000W + if you'll add more than 2 cards.

On the Titans, unless you specifically need the 12GB for something not gaming related, drop to 980Ti's and save a packet. Probably enough to get an Intel 750 400GB

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

What screen resolution will you be doing for :3

Also ditch the Titan X's for two 980Ti's. With a small OC on the 980's you will beat the titan.

I second that thought.

Also, why 5960X?

I probably won't be adding more than two cards for a while, and as for GPU I was getting the titans as I do more than just gaming thought the memory might come in handy for rendering and graphics design, I might be wrong though and looks like the EVGA G2 then AX and HX don't fit my color scheme lol

I'm slow with upgrades lol I mean I was still running a GTX580 up until my pump failed 7 months ago on my water cooling loop and overheated the GPU luckily it didn't damage my 3770k

Better get a higher quality PSU than that. Like a Super Flower, Seasonic, Antec, Cougar, LEPA etc. PSU at over 1kW and gold or better. But no, the wattage is not overkill, because all power supplies are at their most efficient or near their most efficient at 50% load. So the ideal PSU wattage for a system drawing 500W is 1kW. Of course, not many do this, because of the whole 'overkill' fallacy.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Also, why 5960X?

I render a lot of videos and at the moment it takes me ages to render a 20 minute video with my 3770k

I just ordered my new monitor it's the Asus MG279Q 1440p IPS with 144hz my first 144hz monitor :)

If you WILL be adding more than 2 cards, Do go a bit bigger (as with the oc and pumps etc will be getting close to the 850W if your loading it allot of the time)

The 980Ti still has 6GB ram so no slouch either. Really your paying $350 for the extra 6GB ram

For the PSU.. you could just spray it.. Thought they were all black.. :\

Get gsync too if it's in budget.

I was going to get it but I couldn't find a gsync monitor that fills all my needs so I ended up going with the ASUS MG279Q guess I will be sticking with Nvidia Adaptive Vsync for now lol

Custom PC:

Intel Core i7 5960X GTX1080 Strix | 64gb 2400mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance Ram | Samsung S951 256gb M.2 | 4TB WD Blue SSHD | EVGA Supernova G2 1300watt PSU | Acer XB270HU | Corsair K95 RGB | Corsair M65 RGB |

So you ditched the ultrawide :D... Why are you not going for a 4K G-Sync. :o

Yeah I can't wait till august for a new monitor my monitor is driving me mad white just doesn't exist on it and im going to wait before I jump on the 4k wagon its need a year or so longer imo, the monitor I chose has a good res, good refresh and is IPS so will be a good all rounder till 4k matures a bit more :D

Custom PC:

Intel Core i7 5960X GTX1080 Strix | 64gb 2400mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance Ram | Samsung S951 256gb M.2 | 4TB WD Blue SSHD | EVGA Supernova G2 1300watt PSU | Acer XB270HU | Corsair K95 RGB | Corsair M65 RGB |

yeah I was referring to the stickers corsair put on the side of the power supply lol my Custom desk build will have all the parts on view, +just me being picky I guess :D

I did look at that one but it just lacked one thing I needed and that was HDMI, I have a Cinema Sytem which I use for sound for my PC and watching movies. only few G-sync monitors have a display-port and HDMI at the moment and I think it's mostly acers new ones which are still to be released I know the acer predator x34 has both but august is too long my yellowish TN screen need to be replaced

No Gsync monitor has HDMI.. they are limited to DP by the Gsync module unless they have a second scaler in them.

Can't you just run a separate audio cable (either S/PDIF or normal audio jack)?

I stand corrected.. there are 2 available but both are 1080.. :(

The new acer ones must have a second scaler. I plan on using a Optical cable to my Cinema systems blu-ray drive but I still wouldn't be able to use my blu-ray drive on the g-sync monitor, at the moment G-sync isn't a big deal for me if or when Nvidia release version 2 of G-sync then I might look into it a bit more but for now 144hz will be a big step up from a 60hz 1080p 5ms TN panel
