Hi guys!

I was just thinking... I'll be ordering my computer in a week, but is there a possibility to get x99 based computer for rendering, 3d animations and AE VFX work.

My current configuration for computer is:

CPU: i7 4790k

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS z97-pro (Wi-Fi)

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750G G2

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8gb)

CASE: NZXT s340

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 980 Strix

CASE FANS: 2x be quiet! Pure Wings 2 (140mm)

I don't need SSD and HDD.

Challenge:

I want to see if it's possible to get simmilar/better performance with x99 setup for about 1000$ (no GPU included in price)

Do you think It's possible?

Thanks!

Do you actually know what the benefits of X99 are? Basically more PCI lanes and that's about it. So with one card it doesn't really make a whole lot of a difference.

The only other thing is that X99 CPUs tend to be more powerful. So I would just recommend a 5820K and a MSi X99 SLI PLUS or if you have more money a 5960X and a ASUS X99 DELUXE.
