You don't really need an optical drive for a Windows install. Instead, create a bootable USB. Also, do you really need the speakers and the fan controller?

Exactly. Also, if you're strapped for cash, you could forget about the HDD until you really need it. Maybe buy it the month after building it? I don't know many people who can go through 250 Gb in a month, so you should be OK.

You could go without the after-market cooler for a while. Your temps will be a bit high under load, but you'll be okay.

 

Holy crap you guys have it bad! It's more than double the cost for that cooler in Australia as it is in the US.

mATX boards are compatible with ATX coolers.

Yep. mATX (micro ATX ) motherboards are compatible with ATX coolers.

or do i need the regular ATX board
