4k or G-Sync?

Go to solution Solved by m_tieu,

I have the PB287Q and the XB280HK. I don't recommend the Asus monitor, I've had quality issues with 2 of them so far, one has a dead pixel and another one has vertical tearing down the middle sometimes. G-sync is really good and works well. Highly recommended.

I'm looking for a decent monitor to play games and watch films on for under £400. These are the best i've found within the price range but I can't decide which to get. Which would you choose?

I'd go for G-Sync.

4K Is very hard to run, and is honestly best when used with GSync as well. It's also not great for videos, unless you have ones that are actually 4K resolution.

EDIT: Actually, I'd go for 4K in this case, if you have the power to run it well. Didn't realise the Acer was 1080p. If it were 1440p, then I would go for it. Bear in mind you'll probably need to mess around with scaling if you're using the 4K monitor on its own, it can be hard to read text.

I havent experienced either.

I appretiate nice graphics but not all games i play have them.

Graphics are awesome but for me the FPS is more important (i love shooters, CS:GO, BF4, Chivlary etc.).

So i would recommend the Gsync.

If u play more shooters then Gsync, if not then 4K.

At 1440p u can max out any game out now and next year.

At 4K u can max out very few games

Ps. Amazon doesnt mention resolution of that Acer Gsync monitor wtf ?! But i guess its 1440p at that size which makes it far better than 1080p.

a 980ti won't max out GTA v even on 1080p (mostly since it's poorly optimized)
