need help with VLC audio conversion

i want to put some movies on my ipad on  the vlc app? but it doesnt have the AC3 codek (about 80% of movirs have the AC3 codek)

and everytime i convert a video on my PC on VLC it ends p with a  file about 70% smaller then the original one, also there is no picture , only sound, HELP!

i think i got it working, but i screwed up the quality a bit, i selected H264, t was h264before but idk
