Before anything i want to say that i know the graphics card is not the best and that is fine.  For the price, i can get great other parts and then wait till the december holiday sales, by then i should have enough for a 980ti when it goes on sale, (besides, this card will get me 720p-1080p which my monitor supports).  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/DgXct6my budget was 1500$ canadian, and yes, the i7 was something i do want considering the games im playing (arma 3 and dayz).  The rest of the build (everything but cpu, gpu, and ssd) is mainly for looks.  The optical drive i know is not compatable but i plan on installing the disk that way, all i will do is just run a wire out of my case to the optical drive and install windows that way.

My main worry is if the gtx 660 will bottleneck the i7 4790k.

Really should learn how to read...

Well if you can upgrade the gpu in the future then it looks like a very good build.

I would get a usb optical drive though.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

There is nowhere to put the optical drive in that case, you would be better of with a usb optical drive.

i have looked that method up, it seems more complex honestly.  I would much rather have an optical drive anyway in case i need it.  Yes  i know the case does not have room (i said it in the first post.....) but i plan on running a wire out of my case to the optical drive and power it that way, then install windows 8.1

Very unbalanced build. The 660 is defiantly a huge bottleneck. Downgrade to a core i5 4690k and get a GTX 780 or 780ti. The core i5 will still last as long as the i7 for gaming. Most games aren't CPU intensive.

If you want my attention, quote my post or I will not see it. I ignore builds that do not use PCPartPicker.

A 2x8GB memory kit would be better as it puts marginally less strain on the memory controller and leaves two slots free for a future upgrade. But if you really want all slots populated for looks, get a 4x4GB kit. If you cannot find a 4x4GB kit with the looks you want, when you get the two 2x4GB memory kits open one first and mark each stick to distinguish that kit from the other. Otherwise you run a small risk of not keeping the pairs matched and ending up operating in single channel mode.

EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR is a much better psu than the RM-750. It is also less expensive.

I believe @ADZ_123_!"£ was suggesting something like LG GP50NB40 Slim External 8x Black DVD Writer USB 2.0 Retail.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Well. One problem. You have no 5.25" bays, how will you put your cd writer in? :P
