Can someone point me to a good guide to overclock my 4790K on my Gigabyte G1 Gaming Z97 board? I've tried to use a couple of guides so far, and they're just not thorough enough. I know that I want to go to 4.7, and I know that I want to do adaptive voltage. Any help would be great, as I'm completely lost in all of the options.

Try 4.7 at 1.225 first

If stable keep going down (voltage) until unstable, then go to the previous preset

If unstable keep putting a little more voltage still stable

Am I doing that via CPU Frequency, or individual core frequency under turbo boost. Should I be leaving turbo boost on? Remember, I'm trying to do adaptive. My stock Vcore is 1.236, so what you suggested is actually lower than where it's at now. Thank you for trying to help, but I'm really looking for a lot of specifics, and that was incredibly vague.

Yes, through CPU frequency, change it to 47 but when trying to find a stable overclock, stick to manual voltage for the time being until it is stable, then you can change to adaptive afterwards
