I am building this system:

Memory: A-Data XPG V2 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($57.99 @ Newegg) 
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card  ($229.98 @ Newegg) 
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($37.99 @ NCIX US)

I have everything in and when I put my screw driver on the power pins on the mobo nothing happens. I have tried a different psu and nothing. I tried without a video card and woth different ram and in a dfferent slot as well. Nothing works. 

 Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.

Did you make sure to plug in the CPU plug from the power supply ? Also check if this motherboard needs an update for that CPU.
