HDD not shown/usable?

Just finished building my pc and installed windows but my hdd seems unusable - the BIOS boot sequence shows both my ARC100 ssd and my seagate baracuda 1TB as well as the windows install on the ssd.  But when i go to the desktop only the ssd appears in devices and drivers,

 

However if i go into the C: properties it shows both drives there (with only the 230gb from the ssd)

 

I have a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 5 mobo
