Hello, my computer is soon to be 4 years old. Therefore, I think it's time to upgrade. With skylake coming soon, I'm thinking of buying a computer in the fall, but will Nvidia relase new versions of 970 cards or similar that is capable for VR? (1070 lol) Should I wait until spring next year?

My budget is around $1100 and I'm going to use it for VR when the Oculus is released. Therefore I think a GPU is the most important part, and the current 970 is not powerful enough.

Thanks for all responses! If anything is unclear, just comment and I'll make sure to elaborate.

970 is perfectly capable of current VR devices iirc.

Capable, yes, but I want to run games at stable 90+ frames with high res and good graphics. Does anyone have a link for a list over rumored Nvidia release dates?

That should be ivy bridge if it's 4 years old that's still a good CPU, so maybe hold off on upgrading for a bit.

Current computer was a budget one, AMD Phenom II X4 965
