I know when it becomes CPU usage at 99-100% its quite taxing program being used.

But for GPU is it really being pushed so much that it hits 99% usage?

Its running just one game which is FFXIV Heavensward on a Gsync 1440p 144hz monitor. (Using the new DX11 version of the game)

GPU: 980Ti

Temp: 68-72

Mem Usage: 1950-2540

Load: 97-99%

FPS: 79-160+

Though the game runs flawlessly, I cant help it think if its alright or not. The load is it really ok for it to hit that high when on one Game?

I'm not very familiar on how these things work but hope someone can clarify it ヽ(・_・;)ノ

Thanks!

A GPU hitting 100% means it is being utilized to its full potential. You are receiving the best possible performance from your card in that application. It's not going to degrade because of it unless it gets too hot.

Oh (。・ε・。). . . I've always thought that its not a good sign when it hits that high. Does that mean the same for CPU?

Yes indeed it does. Usage just means you're compliments are being utilized by the programs they are running. If your usage is at 100%, and the application is performing poorly, it means the application requires more computing power than is available, and some settings need to be scaled back. And again, degradation comes with too much heat. As long as your temps are solid, your components will be fine.

Edit: Also, loving that Senjougahara profile pic. Much respect, it's an amazing series.

Heyyo,

Are you using MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision to monitor useage? I use MSI Afterburner due to it also monitoring GPU with RAM, CPU, pagefile and a few others. It'll help you figure out if you're having a GPU or CPU bottleneck. Whichever one caps out then you definitely know what's the bottleneck.

Luckily? Game devs seem to be getting better at emphasizing the rendering power of the GPU and games are slowly becoming less CPU bottle-necked but of course it's still an issue.

Another thing to take note of? If your framerate is hitting 160fps? It's rendering insanely fast.

Also, I'm very jelly of your monitor. I'd freaking love a 144Hz GSYNC panel right about meow... sigh. I'm stuck with my 1920x1080 60Hz panel for a while yet. :P

I see. And thank you, it is my favorite series of all time - the Monogatary series that is. Ever since I've read the light novel i loved it and when Shaft went and made it into an Anime my hreat bursted (#ノ゚∀゚)ノ. .

I use CPU-Z and Afterburner. I'm not sure how bottleneck works but I think 4790k is enough perhaps?

Mhm, I used an HD TV for a monitor for 4 years. This new monitor was just something to make sure I can use the PC I have at full when needed to.
