I have 2 EVGA GTX 980s in sli and i noticed that the temps where high. I use msi afterburner and I have the fans settings to what I like. When i dont have msi open the fans dont do anything and temps are high. When msi is open, it works fine and temps are good. Is there some thing wrong with msi or my gpus?

it has to be a setting somewhere, msi is overwriting it and using a non stock fan curve. You have gpuz can you tell us the difference in max load temps and clock speed.

Do you have the latest drivers and if so, I would uninstall them and reinstall them.

what temps are the cards reaching? the evga acx 2.0 cooler has a 0db mode so the fans don't spin until i think around 55ish C
