New Setup

Go to solution Solved by brob,

Hello,

I will build a new PC in Winter and I am thinking about making the case by myself what do I have to look for in case of:

  • form
  • materials
  • size

I will use a ATX board with first one and later two Gigabyte gtx 980ti G1 gaming

If you have not seen it already, http://www.formfactors.org/developer/specs/atx/atx2_1.pdf should be studied. It provides all necessary dimensions.

I would start by coming up with a rough design showing where various components will be. This can then be checked for fit of various components - for example the G1 gpu is longer than many. The design also needs to be checked for good airflow.

With a design in mind one can then finalize materials and dimensions.

a i think it's not really clear I want to build my own case

Find a case in the form factor you want and get measurements from it.. particularly around the layout of the motherboard tray and stand-offs.

Better still, use the tray and build a case around it.

Same can be said of building drive bays, PSU mount etc.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
