BIOS update? need help !

Go to solution Solved by Russell450,

I am so glad you have a MSI board, since it will be convenient for you. Here's how to update the BIOS for your MSI X99S:

-Copy the file onto your flash drive

- Boot into BIOS

-Click M-Flash

-Follow the on-screen prompts

Once you have the BIOS updated via M-Flash, you're all set!

Typically you normally do not have to do a bios update unless your having some problem that the bios update fixes.  You should check your motherboard's manual for the procedure on how to update it if you feel it necessary.  I am aware some updates are considered critical by the manufacturer.

As soon as you provide us with your mobo's specs (Brand and model), then I will be able to assist you with some helpful information on how to update your bios. Unfortunately, I cannot provide you with that information without the model. I wish that it would not be board specific, just for convenience.

The steps are usually the same, however, you must backup the current bios for precaution, and that can be different between other boards.

Assuming that the board is a normal Asus UEFI bios, then you will need to download the bios update .zip in windows, unpack it, put it on a flash drive that is FAT32, restart and go into the bios, under tools use the ez update, and let it finish, then reboot and bo back into the BIOS and reset your settings.

MSI X99s SLI +

 MSI Makes it super easy.

Just put the file on your USB drive, boot to the BIOS, and click on M-Flash.

Like this.

Then select the only file that should show up, hit yes, and wait for it to finish.
