Hey there guys, I need your help!

I'm currently using a Retina Macbook Pro 15, the late 2013 model, with the GT 750m. I bought this, and I TOTALLY regret it. However, I couldn't just change the laptop as  I would've liked. But now, one and a half years in, I may. There are two people who would swap with me. The first, is a guy with an Alienware 15. The Alienware 15 has an i7-4720HQ, 8gb ram, 1TB 7200 HDD, FHD, and GTX 970m. He is willing to trade fully, with no top ups or such. The second guy is offering a Razer Blade. It's last year's model, with the i7-4702HQ, 8gb ram, 256GB SSD, GTX 870m. He wants me to top up RM200, which would be about 53 USD. Both laptops are more or less brand new.

So guys, my mac is about 1.5 years old, but I bought Applecare for it, so there is another 1.5 years of warranty for it. Tell me which choice I should go for guys, rationally! Help me please! Thanks!!

I would say maybe to pick the AlienWare above the Razer Blade.

- Better CPU (marginally)

- Newer GPU

Suggestions for maybe cash you can get / have: Swap the HDD with a 500 gb / 1Tb SSD. Would be absolutely baller.

About the Mac Price: I feel like you're very lucky that those guys want to swap.

Maybe you should feel them out some more about the motives, and if they are really to be thrusted.

Neither the Blade or Alienware are bad laptops, but the Mac is way worse in perspective. Their only reason can really be the OS...

I personally think that you should take the Razer Blade, to be perfectly honest with you. I am sure that a lot of people here will tell you to go with the larger hard drive and significantly better GPU of the 15, but I would hands down go for the Razer Blade, just because of the far superior build quality. Then again, you may want to upgrade your RAM at some point. In my opinion the Razer Blade looks much more appealing in terms of aesthetics, build quality and just being far, far easier to carry around. It would be much like having a far more powerful version of your Macbook Pro. However, it depends on what you want. I think for a crossover to a Razer Blade, $53 is a steal but that's just me.

Definitely take the Razer Blade.  Last year's model has an upgraded screen, and got rid of the crappy TN-panel that was on the first generation Razer Blade.

You reckon the Blade is worth skipping out the gtx 970m on the 15? Just afraid that the Blade won't be able to handle games in the future, really hope it can!

Yeah they're trustable, for sure.

If you're primarily gaming get the alienware. The build quality on that generation is quite good. The blades gpu doesnt even reasonably compare to the 970m

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Ah that's true. I was checking out graphic cards, and I saw that benchmarks for GTX 780M is muuuch better than the 800m series ones(870m, 880m). Can you tell me why??

I'll take the Alienware 15 too. May be somewhat heavy to carry around with at about 3.2-ish kg, but still has better specs than the Blade. I would tradeoff specs for portability.

Guys, what if the AW15 offer is gone, whereas now the 2 choices are:

a) The Razer Blade, with the 53 USD topup

B) MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 052, i7-4700HQ, 12GB Ram, 128SSD+1TB 7200, GTX870M with 80USD topup

Nono, it's only 870m, edited the post sorry. What would you choose now?

I personally would still go with the GS60, because you can upgrade the RAM. It also just appeals to me more than the Razer Blade. I get a macbooky feel from the Blade and I have the plastic rival/cousin, once removed, to the GS60, the Gigabyte P35W V2 and that thing is A. MAZING.

Shoot.. now the MSI option is gone, cause it's out of stock :( !!!

There's only the Razer Blade option left. Do you think it's worth it, trading my mac for the Blade, like factoring in the Applecare, and having pay an additional $50? Or am I losing out?
