Hey gang!

Yeah I posted here before about a complete build but my Nephew has brought a pre-built. An Alienware at that, I know I tried to warn him!

 

So yeah he got an Alienware x51 and he would like to basically change this over into a new pc as the x51 case doesnt have enough space for the new GTX cards etc... he also mentioned that he would like it to be able to run upcoming next gen games on at least high with constant 60+fps.

 

So I've narrowed it down all that he needs is a new:

• Case - Needs space for upgrading, space for new GTX cards i.e 970
• Fans
• CPU cooler
• Motherboard

So yeah any help would be amazing!

Pfft hahahah well tell your nephew to return the bloody thing while he still can. He won't be able to upgrade anything sadly. I believe the CPU socket is soldered in. And the GPU is locked I think or something. As well as the PSU is non replaceable. Tell your nephew  he has made a bad decision and that he can hopefully return the thing and actually make a cheaper and better gaming PC.

i'm gonna be backing post #2 here, and say upgrading a prebuilt is a joke, and you shouldnt even start with it.

 

last time i tried upgrading a prebuilt the thing wouldnt even post...
