Reboot your router or log into the console and reconnect, it is rather unlikely a cable just stops working here.

I have restarted the rooter already, i dont know how to log into the console though, would need help with that. The port that you connect the ethernet cable to lights up when the triangle icon pops up. I assume the cable is still functional.

you could open a command line window. Go to the start bar and search for "cmd" (minus the " ") and type in "ipconfig". Look for the Default Gateway. This is the address of the router that you are connected to. Type this address into your browser of choice. You should land on to the page of your router.

log in details are on the rear of the router as long as a custom IP, username and password have been set up.

I accessed the console and I can see my pc and that it's "connected" under the "currently connected to this router" tab. What should I do now?

Without knowing your router model I can give direct instruction.

One tab will be settings / config / home / status... have a look around

You will usually see your ISP username and password and the connection status.

Here try the reconnect option and see if you can get a connection again.

Honestly most routers will automatically try if left to there own devices as well as automatically try and connect if they are power cycled.

go to the back of the modem and find a little hole then stick a pin in that fits and hold it for 6 seconds or until you see its lights turn of or on or start flashing. also make sure you turn on your modem first then your router second. also take out the Ethernet cable out of the modem and router then plug it back in.

Hey,

You don't need internet connectivity on your pc to get into the homehub ( ever unimpressed user of the homehub 5 here.... )

Get into the console, on the HH5 on the home tab it lists My Services, here we have the disconnect and reconnect button options.

I'd turn it off for a few minutes then reboot it then mate, alternatively you can reset it there is a button round the back

I restarted the internet and still no diffence. I'm probably going to get another cable. When i troubleshooted the internet while it was at the triangle icon, i got "Ethernet cable doesnt have a valid IP configuration"
