with 500W will be fine?

Dragonsiver

Hi there.

i'm building a new System but i'm not sure about the PSU in the store they recommend a Cooler Master 850W Silent Pro for $335

but its too expensive for the PSU i think ,so searching in internet i found a EVGA 500W 80PLUS

°The System is:

CPU:   I5-440 3.1GHZ 6MB Cache

MoBo: Gygabyte B85-HD3 ATX LGA 1150 DDR3 1600mhz

GPU:   EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5

RAM:   Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

The EVGA 500W 80PLUS will be fine for this System?

thanks and sorry for my bad English

So Why the Store recommend the Cooler Master 850W and why it's so expensive($335)

and the EVGA 500W 80PLUS it's only for $50

Stores want to make money. Or perhaps the guy in the store doesn't know what he's talking about.

I'd be surprised if that system uses more than 400W during gaming.

Technically yes, but get at least the 80+ Bronze version. The 500-W1 with a 980 system is very unbalanced. Don't cheap out on the PSU that much.
