Here's my new planned build! I've been working on it for a while and want some suggestions. Please don't suggest another GPU, I know the 970 is better but I did a lot of research on the 960 and it's fine for me. Still not sure about the PSU, and I'll get windows 10 of coarse. I just added windows 8 for the cost of 10.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I plan to game at 1080p and do some photo/video editing. I'll have 2 monitors and upgrade to 3 in the future but no surround gaming. No overclocking planned right now either but possibly in the future. Thanks!

Crappy PSU, get a better one. Also, why a WD red? Those are meant to be running 24/7, get a green or black one. You should consider to get the R9 280x, instead of the 960

I'd say to ditch the two sticks of 8 gigs of ram and get 4 sticks of 8 gigs. Also it's just a personal preference for me, but I'd say to go with an XFX PSU. It's really your choice.

You should also be able to afford a 80+ gold psu at your budget range, the G series psu's from Seasonic are quiet and brilliant.

Is this PSU better? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr

Also, I chose a WD red for the reliability of a NAS drive.

Not it will still run as dual channel.

I do like the EVGA PSU, really anything that is XFX, EVGA, or Cooler Master is good, don't be dumb like me and get a Corsair PSU.

The NEX series of EVGA aren't really good. If you go EVGA, go Supernova g2, otherwhise just get anything of seasonic or XFX

Wrong. socket 1150 has only up to dual channel, only socket 2011 and 2011-3 has quad channel.

How are they "not really good?" Its still a reputable brand.

They are good, but for the price you can get better ones

It's kind of like how Sentey makes great gaming headsets, but if you went out and bought one of their PSU's because they are reputable you'd end up with a broken PC and a PSU with  some puffs of smoke coming out of it. EVGA makes a killer video card and their Supernova line is amazing, but that is the only PSU I'd get from EVGA.

SuperFlower make a lot of Sentey power supplies. I wouldn't have any problem using one. Also SuperFlower make the EVGA G2/P2/T2/B2.
